This is a parody I made of “The Cat Came Back”. Tried to put a spin on things in the last verse . . . :-p

I’ve also added the chords if you play an instrument of some sort and would like to perform it somewhere *cough cough* VBS *cough cough*.

Each chord gets two beats. Try looking up the song on YouTube if you don’t exactly get what I’m saying. And if you play an instrument, I hope that you know how to play E minor, D, and C.

Guitarists, B may be a tad tricky. Especially if you’re still a kid and have small hands like mine. ;-p

Verse 1
Em D C B
Now we depraved humans had troubles of our own,
Em D C B
Sin was all around us, in us, and in our home.
Em D C B
We tried and we tried to get that sin away,
Em D C B
Then our Messiah died and we thought he went away

Chorus
Em D C B
But the Lord came back, that bright Easter day
Em D C B
The Lord came back, they thought he was a goner
Em D C B
Yea, the Lord came back, and took all our sins away

Verse 2
Em D C B
There was a man on camel who was headed way out west
Em D C B
He was praying to his gods, the ones he loved the best.
Em D C B
Till he met a man who had a scroll for sale
Em D C B
So they opened up the scroll and read old Matthew’s tale . . .

Chorus

Verse 3
Em D C B
Well the end of the world came one surprising day,
Em D C B
No Christian could predict, not even ELCA,
Em D C B
So imagine the looks the Jesus dude got,
Em D C B
When the plaid shirt he was wearing made his eyes look bright a lot . . .

Chorus
