Mood: Hm . . .
So I took this personality test. I’ve always been wary of these because you can’t be defined by a bunch of questions, but it really makes you think about the difference between how you think and how you act.
You know that sometimes people put so much time in trying to fit a certain image or personality that they lose a sense of themselves? It’s the same with your faith. If you keep refusing the Holy Spirit, you finally lose the ability to welcome it after a while. And thus is the Unforgivable Sin. Now, when people always hear about an unforgivable sin, they probably wonder one thing: have I done it?
Good news, people: if you worry about whether you have committed it, then you probably haven’t!
If you’ve ever noticed, very few, if any, atheists go so far as to claim that the Holy Spirit is evil. In Matthew, Jesus was working miracles, and the teachers of the law were claiming he did it by Satan’s authority. Basically, they were equating the Messiah with Satan! That’s as good an example of the Unforgivable Sin as it gets.
So, by saying that anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, some believe that this means that God will refuse to forgive them. This isn’t true. Common sense will tell you that biting the hand that feeds you means that you don’t want the hand to feed you.
I guess knowing that humans have to be warned about such an action really makes one realize how evil a person can actually be. Praise God for love that will always exist despite our sinful selves! Amen! ❤
